Beautify and sharpen = poetry. A (very) short interruption.

Beautify and sharpen; two things I don’t always work on when it comes to writing. Two things I need to work on. But don’t. Seems the easiest to let go when trying to finish first drafts. And yet, it’s those two things that fill me with immeasurable joy as I craft my prose. Beautify and sharpen. Beautify and sharpen.

robbed my words, my rhymes; forced my tears, my time — and now they’re yours. i gave them up too readily; too quickly. but you took them, tricked me.
